Custom Electronics Design

I build custom electronics to order — a solution fully tailored to your needs, taken from the first idea to the finished board. Designs can meet the standard your application requires: automotive with all the necessary protections, consumer, industrial and more.

From idea to finished board

  1. Get in touch. Tell me what you need and what the board should do.
  2. Concept & parts. I choose the best approach and the right components for your project.
  3. Schematic. I design the circuit.
  4. Schematic review. We go through the schematic together and make sure the concept is right.
  5. PCB layout. Once you approve the schematic, I design the board layout.
  6. Final price. After you approve the layout, you get the final price. Payment is due before ordering.
  7. Manufacturing & assembly. I order the boards assembled from a PCB manufacturer. Any remaining components and parts are then added by hand.
  8. Testing. Every board is tested for all agreed functions.
  9. Enclosure (optional). 3D-printed or CNC-machined aluminium, anodized.
  10. Shipping. Your boards are packed and shipped to you.

Motorcycle Dash Controller

A real example of a custom board built through this process — timeline and cost included.

This board reads analog inputs and two CAN bus channels, built around an STM32F446 microcontroller with USB communication and TE Superseal 1.0 automotive connectors for a reliable, sealed connection on the bike.

It's protected against load dump, reverse polarity, overcurrent and overvoltage — every input and output on the board is automotive-protected.

Timeline: schematic and PCB layout — 3 to 5 days after requirements are confirmed. Manufacturing — 5 to 10 days.

Cost: for the board shown here, total cost — design, manufacturing and shipping — was €430 for 2 units. With larger quantities, the cost per board drops considerably.
